The finished Santa is approximately 3.75 inches tall and Mrs. Claus is approximately 2.75 inches tall (not including the hooks)
This pattern is written in US crochet terms.
I choose to begin by chaining two and then single crochet 6 stitches in the second chain from the hook. Of course, you may alternatively do a magic ring if you prefer.
Santa
Begin with red yarn. Stuff as you go.
Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook (6)
R 2: inc. x 6 (12)
R 3: (sc, inc.) x 6 (18)
R 4-5 : 18 sc (18)
Change to black yarn.
R 6: 18 sc (18)
Change to red yarn for the beginning of row 7. For rows 7- 9, black indicates using red yarn while blue indicates color using white yarn.
R 7-8: 8 sc, 2 sc, 8 sc (18)
Pause here and place a stitch marker in your last stitch. Place a small amount of brown yarn in your tapestry needle and embroider a small belt buckle onto your doll. Begin from inside your doll and make four sides of a square. Then tie the ends of the yarn on the back side of your fabric. (I choose to embroider the buckle at this point because I can hide the ends on the inside.)
R 9: (sc, dec.) x 3, sc, dec., (sc, dec.) x 2 (12)
Change to tan yarn.
R 10: BLO (3 sc, inc.) x 3 (15)
R 11-14 (4 rows total): 15 sc (15)
Insert safety eyes 2 stitches apart (1 visible stitch, not including stitches obscured by the eyes) between rows 12 and 13.
R 15: (3 sc, dec) x 3 (12)
R 16: dec. x 6 (6)
F.o. and weave in ends.
Beard
Use white yarn. These will be regular single crochet decreases, not invisible decreases.
R 1: ch 5
R 2: Beginning from the 2nd ch from the hook, complete: dec. x 2 (2)
F.o., and sew the beard on Santa’s face between rows 11 and 12.
Hat
Begin with white yarn. This will be crocheted in rounds (with ch 1 at the beginning and sl st at the end), not in a spiral. Leave a long tail at the beginning before you start row 1. You can use this to sew the hat around the head once it is complete.
R 1: ch 20, sl st to the first ch to form a ring. (Be careful not to twist your ring). (20)
R 2: ch 1, (sl st in first stitch, hdc in 2nd stitch) x 10 connect with a sl st. (20)
R 3: ch 1, (hdc in the first stitch, sl st in the 2nd stitch) x 10, connect with sl st (20).

R 7: ch 1, (2 sc, dec) x 4, connect with sl st (12)
R 8: ch 1, 12 sc, connect with sl st (12)
R 9: ch 1, (2 sc, dec) x 3, connect with sl st (9)
R 10: ch 1, 9 sc, connect with sl st (9)
Change to white yarn.
R 11: ch 1, (sc, dec) x 3, connect with sl st (6)
R 12: ch 1, 6 sc, connect with sl st (6)
F.o. and weave in ends. Sew the hat onto the head using white yarn.
Thread a piece of twine in your tapestry needle and insert it through the top of the hat (I inserted it between rows 9 and 10. Double knot both ends together. Then slide the knotted part so that it is on the inside of the hat and does not show. (You might need to trim the ends of the knot depending on how big they are).

Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook (6)
R 2: inc. x 6 (12)
R 3: (sc, inc.) x 6 (18)

R 5: 18 sc (18)

R 6: 18 sc (18)

R 4-5: 15 sc (15)
R 6: (sc, ch 5, complete 4 sc back down chain) x 6, 4 sc, (sc, ch 5, complete 4 sc back down chain) x 5, sl st to the next stitch to make the hair even.
Leave a long tail and f.o. Use the tail to sew hair around the head.

Hat
Start with red yarn. This will be crocheted in rounds (with ch 1 at the beginning and sl st at the end), not in a spiral.
R 1: ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook (6)
R 2: ch 2, dc inc. x 6, connect with sl st (12)
R 3: ch 1, BLO: 12 hdc, connect with sl st (12)
Change to white yarn.
R 4: ch 1, FLO: complete in each stitch: sl st, ch 2, dc, ch 2, sl st (12 times). At the end of the row, connect with a sl st in the following stitch to make the hat even.
F.o. and leave a long tail. Use the long tail to sew that hat onto the head.
Skirt
Use your white yarn to slip stitch one of your front loop stitches from row 4 in the back of Mrs. Claus Hold Mrs. Clause with the head facing you and complete the following sequence beginning with the stitch you just slip stitched: (In the first stitch: hdc, dc, hdc, Complete a slip stitch in the next stitch) x 9.

Thread a piece of twine in your tapestry needle and insert it through the top of the hat. Double knot both ends together. Then slide the knotted part so that it is on the inside of the hat and does not show. (You might need to trim the ends of the knot depending on how big they are).
